Dog Found Dead on Delta Flight That Stopped in Detroit; Blanket Had Blood –  Deadline Detroit

Alejandro, the eight-year-old pomeranian dog, is dead.

The dog was on a Delta flight from Phoenix to Newark and had a layover in Detroit on Wednesday where he was discovered dead on Wednesday in a cage in the cargo hold.  His blanket had blood on it and police put up crime scene tape at the airport, WXYZ reports.

The family’s attorney, Evan Oshan, says he’s determined to get to the bottom of it so no other family has to go through this pain again, Bethany Moore of WXYZ reports.

Delta says a flight attendant checked on Alejandro at 6 a.m. Two hours later, he was found dead.

Delta says it’s “conducting a thorough review of the situation to find out more about why this may have occurred to ensure it doesn’t happen again.”

The owner Michael Delligrazie, who is planning to move to New Jersey, came to Detroit to recover the dog’s body.
