Shipt Inc., an Internet-based delivery service owned by Target, will begin delivering groceries and other goods to Target customers in metro Detroit and other regions in Michigan next month, Tyler Clifford of Crain’s Detroit Business reports.

The delivery will begin in areas across the Lower Peninsula on June 14 in an effort to offer same-day delivery to 2.4 million households, according to a news release.

“Shipt’s personalized, customer-focused approach fits perfectly with our commitment to deliver a convenient, exceptional experience and we’re excited to begin offering same-day service across Michigan,” John Mulligan, Target’s executive vice president and COO, said in a statement.

Crain’s reports:

In Southeast Michigan, Shipt will serve Target customers across much of Wayne County (excluding an eastern section of Detroit) as far south to the mouth of Lake Erie, north into Oakland County to Lake Orion, northeast into Macomb County to New Baltimore and west into Washtenaw County to Ann Arbor, the company said.
