Belle Isle will be a little less shady following a Monday afternoon thunderstorm that did significant damage to the state park’s trees, WDIV-TV reports.
Reporter Jason Colthorp caught time-lapse video of the storm, which hit Belle Isle, Grosse Pointe Park and Detroit River marinas, inflicting mostly minor damage. Windmill Pointe Park in Grosse Pointe Park was said to have trees down, no power, and debris in the swimming pool.
